Colin Lea gained his B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering at Southampton University in 1982 and joined Ricardo Consulting Engineers, working on a wide variety of engine design and development projects. In 1991 Colin joined JLR as part of the design team delivering the all-new AJV8 engine project, working closely with Ford manufacturing engineers through to the first launch of a JLR engine at Ford’s Bridgend Plant, where Colin later had the role of JLR Engine Resident Engineer. Colin has since worked on numerous gasoline and diesel engine design projects for JLR, including applications for Ford North America and Aston Martin. In 2013 Colin joined the Hybrid Department where he has since been involved in the integration of hybrid powerpack concepts into JLR applications.
